    The new Makita TM3000CX5 3.0 amp Corded Multi-Tool Set is actually a surprisingly impresive machine.  Owners are already boasting about the powerful soft start motor, the aggressive 3.2 degree blade swing and a ground breaking reduction of machine noise output.  The use of isolation material inside the Makita Multi-Tool greatly reduces the transmission of vibration to the operator's hand, that's a big plus.  Anyone who has suffered from hand numbness from using a cheap multi-tool will appreciate this machine's built-in vibration dampers as a feature worthy in itself for getting this machine.  The ranking of this multi-tool will surely rise as more users discover this solid machine as a top performing contender. 

    Regarding the new Makita LXMT02Z 18 Volt LXT Lithiium Cordless Multi-Tool, we will call this one a good cordless; not a great cordless but a good cordless.  This model also features a bigger oscillation swing but has a short and possibly frustrating battery run time.  It has decent torque; a variable speed drive and only weighs 4.5 pounds.  This tool is a great companion to the corded Makita, it can quickly go where the corded can't.  

    We're a little biased because we still believe that any oscillating cutting tool task lasting more than 10 minutes needs to be carried out with a corded machine to be practical. 

    Another positive consideration for potential Makita Multi-Tool shoppers is the availability of aftermarket blades and accessories.  The Makita family of multi-tools are also designed to accept the Bosch appointed OIS blade fit standard.  Which means it uses Bosch fitting blades or any other aftermarket blade in the world commited to the OIS standard.
